Kimberly Ann Wright

Kimberly Ann Wright, 44, of Connecticut, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family, following a sudden cardiac arrest. Born on September 2, 1981, in Middletown, Connecticut, Kimberly lived a life defined by love, laughter, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Known to everyone as Kim, she was the cherished daughter of Gregg and Kathy Neely, loving mother of Rocco and Sofia Cossaboom, beloved sister of Rebecca Wright, and treasured granddaughter of William Lee Sparaco. She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by knowing her.

Kim graduated from Quinnipiac University and later earned her master's degree from the University of New Haven. She worked for several years at Essence, a full-service salon and wellness center, where her warm smile and caring personality welcomed everyone who walked through the door. Most recently, she worked alongside her father at Neely Building & Design, handling both office responsibilities and field work with the same dedication, determination, and caring spirit that defined everything she did.

Anyone who knew Kim knew she could light up a room with her infectious laugh and playful spirit. She had an incredible gift for making people feel welcome, valued, and loved. She found joy in tending her flower and vegetable gardens, spending time at the beach, collecting sea glass to make crafts and taking golf cart rides to the shoreline she loved. She appreciated life's simple pleasures and found happiness in sharing them with the people she loved most.

More than anything else, Kim had a remarkable gift for making people feel loved, accepted, and important. It was simply who she was.

Above all else, Kim was a devoted mother. Rocco and Sofia were the center of her world and the greatest joy of her life. Every decision she made and every dream she held was rooted in her love for her children. They were her greatest accomplishment and her proudest blessing.

Kim's family and friends will forever remember her generous heart, compassionate nature, quick wit, and the countless memories filled with laughter that she leaves behind. Her love, kindness, and joyful spirit will continue to live on in everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

The Neely family extends its deepest gratitude to the Old Saybrook Police Department, whose officers responded with exceptional skill and compassion and were able to restore Kim's heartbeat at the scene; to the Old Saybrook Ambulance Association; the emergency department at Shoreline Medical Center; and to the outstanding physicians, nurses, and ICU staff at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Their extraordinary efforts, professionalism, and kindness brought comfort to Kim and her family during an unimaginably difficult time. The family will always be grateful for the compassion shown to Kim and to all of us.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those wishing to honor Kim's memory simply spend time with those they love, share a laugh, plant a flower, visit the beach, or perform an act of kindness in her memory.

Kim's life was a beautiful reminder that love is measured not by the years we are given, but by the lives we touch. Though our hearts are forever changed, we find comfort in the laughter she shared, the love she gave so freely, and the legacy she leaves in Rocco and Sofia. She will be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
