June 16, 1961 – March 23, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Liam McTeague, beloved husband, father, and friend, who died unexpectedly on March 23, 2025, at the age of 63, doing what he loved — playing hockey. Liam was born in Hartford, Connecticut on June 16, 1961.
Liam was married to his devoted wife, Janet McTeague, for 33 years. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising their family in South Windsor, and moving to Old Saybrook in 2021. Liam was proud to be a “girl dad” to his three daughters, Meghan McTeague of South Windsor, Colleen McTeague of West Hartford, and Erin McTeague of Avon.
Liam attended Loomis Chaffee, Fairfield University, and earned his Master's degree at the University of Hartford. He later spent the majority of his professional career in the insurance industry. He loved golf, hockey, and supporting New York sports teams. He cherished walks by the water with his wife and their dog Opal, and taking his golf cart to sunsets and the lighthouse.
Liam’s warmth, kindness, and infectious sense of humor touched the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have shared in his vibrant life.
He is predeceased by his parents, William and Marguerite McTeague and his brother, Conor McTeague.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Liam's name to the Make A Wish Foundation.
