Linda Lee Horton

Linda Lee Horton, 82, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026 at her home following a brief illness. Born August 23,1943, Linda grew up in Groton Connecticut, the daughter of Mildred and Carl Burgess.

Linda resided in Old Saybrook for the past 65 years, she was a wife, mother,and grandmother. Shopping, going to breakfast with the ladies, and taking bus trips to the casino were some of her favorite things to do. She loved spending time with her friends and family and was always eager to go anywhere or do anything with the family.

Linda is survived by her siblings Patricia Gee, Teresa Amundson, and Michael Dagney; her daughter’s Audrey Scott and husband Chris of Old Saybrook, and Annette Higgins and her husband Jay of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren Brett Wingard, Brittany Bradshaw and husband Jonathan of Jacksonville, Florida; Christopher Scott and wife Ginette of Rehoboth, Massachusetts; Elizabeth Norman and husband Bo of Clinton; and great grandchildren, Briana Norman of Clinton; Leon and Isla Scott of Rehoboth, Massachusetts and Aiden Bradshaw of Jacksonville FL.

Linda was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Thomas F Horton, her son Troy, brother Carl “Butch” Burgess, sisters Carleen LaRose, Margaret Dagney, and Katherine Dagney.

Friends and family are welcome to gather for calling hours on Sunday, July 5, 2026, from 12pm until 1pm at Swan Funeral Home, located at 1224 Boston Post Rd, Old Saybrook, CT.

A prayer service will be held immediately following the calling hours at 1pm.

Burial will be private at the family's convenience.
