Born on December 28, 1944 in Hartford, CT, she was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph W. and Mary (Warner) Cunningham. She grew up in West Hartford, CT attending Mount St. Joseph Academy and Albertus Magnus College and then spent much of her adult life in the Boston area working at the Tufts Mental Health Unit and as an administrative assistant in the fields of medicine, financial planning and housing management. After retiring in Old Saybrook and later Essex, Meg enjoyed traveling and the many deep and faithful friendships she shared through the years, some dating back to elementary school. She was a communicant of Christ the King Catholic Church in Old Lyme, CT where she was an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist and Lector.
Besides her parents, Meg was pre-deceased by three brothers, George, Joseph Jr., and Richard Cunningham and her sister, Patricia Norko. She is survived by her brother, James W. Cunningham of Simsbury, CT, his daughters, Ann and Meg, and many nieces and nephews. Meg and her family wish to thank her life-long friends, all who supported her through her illness with special thanks to Patrick Bowers, Marli Maura, Carol Wallace, the entire Oncology Staff at the Yale Smilow Cancer Center and the compassionate services of Masonicare Palliative and Hospice Care during her last weeks.
The family will receive friends from 10 - 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Christ the King Church, 1 McCurdy Road, Old Lyme, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will directly follow at 11 a.m..
