Maria Krauland

She was 99. Maria was born in Kostolac, Serbia and lived at Apple Rehab for the past seven years.

She, her husband Albert, and their two sons came to the United Statesin 1955, settling in Queens, NY, where she found work as a seamstress. Her sewing skills for fine custom made clothes were sought after by both

friends and family. In 1996 she and her husband relocated to Old Saybrook

to be near their two children, and were warmly welcomed by everyone they met.After her husband passed away, she settled in Apple Rehab where she was lovingly cared for by the entire staff. She is survived by her son Gerhard and his wife Hanna, and her son Herman, and Grandson, Daniel as well as her nieces, Vali Glockner and Branka Harris. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, April 11 at 2 pm at St. John's Roman Catholic Church in Old Saybrook. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Old Saybrook.
