

Born in New London, CT on July 7, 1964, Mike was the beloved son of Beverly (Rubino) Solecki and the late Michael A. Solecki.
Mike was the cherished husband of Lisa Solecki, his partner, best friend, and greatest supporter for more than 35 years. Together they built a beautiful life centered on family, laughter, and love. Their marriage was a testament to enduring commitment, friendship, and partnership—one that grew stronger through every joy and challenge they shared.
Above all, Mike’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted father to Jenna Tyrer (Sam); Robert Solecki (Carla); Ryan Solecki; and Joelle Solecki. He celebrated their accomplishments, encouraged their dreams, and treasured every moment spent together.
One of the greatest blessings of his life was becoming a grandfather to Scottie James Tyrer, who brought immeasurable happiness to his heart.
Mike is also survived by his loving siblings, Vicki Apanaschik (Gary), Thomas Solecki (Joanne), and Susan Solecki (Gary); along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and colleagues whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
For more than a decade, Mike served as Regional Vice President for Shaw Industries, earning the admiration and respect of colleagues, customers, and industry partners. Known for his integrity, professionalism, and ability to build lasting relationships.
Those who knew Mike will remember his warm smile, generous spirit, quick wit, and quiet strength. He had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome, valued, and cared for. Whether offering guidance, lending a helping hand, sharing a laugh, or simply being present, Mike touched countless lives with kindness and compassion.
While his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his family finds comfort in the memories he created the lessons he taught and integrity he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 4th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Swan Funeral Home in Old Saybrook, CT. A funeral mass will follow on Friday, June 5th at 11:00am at St John’s Church in Old Saybrook, CT.
