

Nancy Lee Moore (Ravenola), 79, Westbrook, CT, passed away August, 3, 2026 peacefully at home. She was born October 29, 1946 in Springfield, MA, daughter of the late Francis (Gene) and Susan (Albano) Ravenola. Nancy grew up in Enfield, CT and attended local schools and was a graduate of Enfield High School. She was a member of the National Honor Society and the captain of the cheerleading team where she continued to cheer in college. She earned a Bachelors and Masters of Education degrees at Central Connecticut State University. She taught at Mark Twain, Thomas Alcorn and Nathan Hale Elementary Schools as a Kindergarten teacher for over 30 years. Combining her Italian heritage and Catholic faith, she was a long time member of the Mount Carmel Society’s Women’s Auxiliary with many of her extended family. She had a love for the shore. She summered in Westbrook, CT as a little girl and continued that tradition by bringing her own family. This is where she met her loving husband, Walter, and made Westbrook their permanent home. When she retired from teaching, Nancy worked at the Westbrook Town Hall as a Registrar of Voters. In 2019, she received the John A. Holbrook Award by the Westbrook Republican Town Committee. Nancy enjoyed going to the beach and embraced many adventurous activities, such as sailing, cross country skiing, cycling, archery and hunting with her husband, Walter. She also volunteered as a judge in the sailing competition for Special Olympics World Games. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and grandnieces and grandnephews, and most recent great grandnephew.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Walter Moore, four children, Robyn (David) Radziewicz, Melinda (Bert) Kingsley, Adam (Lynn) Moore and Jay (Laura) Moore. Grandchildren, Ryan (Mary), Julia, Joseph and Hayden Radziewicz. Hannah and Katie Kingsley. Dillon, Brenna, Meadow and Orion Moore. Her brother and sister-in-law, Carmine and Marie Ravenola, brother-in-law Robert Moore and many nephews and nieces, Matt, Terry, Benjamin, Frank, Mary Kay, Michelle, Ken, Nicholas (Riley), Christopher (Paige), Katie (Jana), Dean, Kyle, Keeley and Enzo. She was predeceased by her parents, sister, Angelina Alaimo, nephew, Dean Ravenola, in-laws, Walter and Frances Moore and former husband, Robert Malley.
Nancy battled and fought with great strength and faith for many years with medical issues. The family would like to thank Dr. Catherine Arnold of Guildford Internal Medicine, her caretakers, Anna, Elaine and Adjoa for the great care over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
Relatives and friends may gather with her family on Sunday, August 9, 2026 from 2:00 – 5:00pm at Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Road, Old Saybrook, CT. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026, at St. Marks The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Westbrook, CT for an 11:00 am Funeral Mass, followed by interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Westbrook.
