Ronald E. Scudder, 67 of Centerbrook, formerly of Old Saybrook, Chester and Deep River passed away January 22, 2012. He was born December 16, 1944 in Middletown. He is preceded in death by mother, Dorothy Scudder and two brothers, Clifford and Richard Scudder. Ronald is survived by sister, Lillian Moore widow of James Moore of New Haven and brother, Bill Walker and his wife Lisa (Steinecker) of NH. Ronald is also survived by numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Ron was a machinist and welder for many years. He was an expert at tying flies and an avid fisherman who loved spending quiet days in his canoe on the lakes and rivers of Connecticut. Proud of his Native heritage, Ron's connection with the natural world was a deep one. In his later years, he expressed his love of nature, God, and family through his poetry which he read at church and published in local papers. We would like to express our gratitude to the staff at Aurora Senior Living and Masonicare Hospice for their kindness and care of our beloved brother and uncle. Family will receive friends from noon until the time of service at 1 PM on Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Rd., Old Saybrook.
