Rosalind A. Mayhew

Rosalind Mayhew, aged 86, of Old Saybrook and formerly of Madison, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 19, 2023. Born on June 5, 1937, in Torrington, CT, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse P. Auletta and Rose (D’Amato) Auletta, and sister to the late Anna Mae Auletta.

Rosalind is survived by her three children: Linda Mayhew Rice and her husband Greg Rice of Harrison, ME; Jonathan Mayhew and his wife Robin, of Madison, CT; and Justin Mayhew and his wife Kristin, of Fairfield, CT.

She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Garret Rice (Nichole) of Edgartown, MA; Griffin Mayhew (Michela) of Madison, CT; Dylan Rice of Greenwich, NY; Hunter Mayhew of East Haven, CT; Samantha Mayhew of New York, NY; Avery Mayhew and Carly Mayhew of Fairfield, CT.

Rosalind was a mother who put her heart into her family. She was a familiar face at her grandchildren's sports events and activities, where her unwavering support shone through. She had a passion for travel and enjoyed exploring new places.

A Funeral Mass will be held on August 24 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, located at 161 Main St, Old Saybrook, CT. The family will hold a private burial service at a later date at St. Francis Cemetery in Torrington, CT.
