Thomas Garcia Jr.

Thomas Garcia, 79, of Westbrook, CT, beloved husband of Maria Burgos Garcia, passed away on June 6, 2013 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born in New York, N.Y., the son of the late Thomas and Carmen Rivera Garcia.

Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in England and a graduate of City College in New York. Thomas received a degree in Metallurgy and went on to work for U.N.C. Naval Products In Montville, CT for twenty-seven years. He was a devoted and consummate family man.

In addition to his loving wife of 60 years, he is survived by two children, his son, Gregory Garcia, his wife Tammie, and a daughter Jeannette Falanga and her husband Ciro. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Nicole, Angela and Jessica Garcia, also Ciro Thomas Falanga. He also leaves behind three nieces, Anita Bastas, Debra Fegley, and Rachel Garcia. Thomas was predeceased by his son Thomas Garcia III, and brother Tony Garcia.

Calling hours will from 6 to 8 pm on Tues at Swan Funeral Home in Old Saybrook, CT with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mark's Church in Westbrook on Wed at 10 am. Interment will take place at Ressurrection Cemetery in Westbrook CT.
