William A Steigleder

William A. Steigleder of Orange Connecticut passed away unexpectedly on May 14, 2015. William (Bill) was born April 1,1961 in New Haven to William and Nancy (Corcoran) Steigleder of Old Saybrook. He was predeceased by his twin children Michael William and Hannah Elizabeth and survived by his wife Rachel (Shapiro) Steigleder and two daughters Megan Shea and Allison Emma. He attended and graduated from Haddam Killingworth High School and was employed by UPS for 28 years. A lifelong resident of Connecticut, Bill married Rachel in 1994 and made their home in Orange. He was a devoted husband and father who worked hard and cherished time spent with family and friends. A kind man, Bill had a gentle nature, was a devout New York Giants fan and often enjoyed a good laugh. In addition to his wife and two daughters, Bill is survived by his parents William and Nancy Steigleder, sisters Linda (Ross) DuPuis, Kristin (Frank) Bannon, and Deborah (Jai) Persico; sister-in-law Caren (Richard) Maglio; brother-in-law Scott (Gillian) Shapiro; many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors who will all miss him dearly. Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Swan Funeral Home (1224 Boston Post Road, Old Saybrook CT), followed by the Funeral Liturgy on Wednesday at 11:00 am in St. John’s Church in Old Saybrook. Bill final interment will be private.
