Bradley- Alfred Maurice Jackson, 79, has gone to claim his room prepared by the Lord. When he took his last breath, October 9, 2018, he was surrounded by family at his lifetime home in Bradley. Alfred fought his way through many health battles throughout his life, including diabetes, heart disease and most recently, a battle with cancer. In the end though, with the help of God and intestinal fortitude, he beat them all. He was born January 27, 1939 in Bradley, a son of Maurice and Anna (Guay) Jackson.
Alfred was a dedicated husband, a great father to his children and loved all of his grandchildren very much. Alfred was an avid sportsman, and loved hunting and fishing his entire life. He spent much of his time over the past several years on Cold Stream Pond in pursuit of "Walter". Spare time was spent on his Kubota tractor (even if it meant digging a hole out back, to just fill it back in again)
He was predeceased by his parents, Maurice and Anna Jackson; brothers, Charles "Boy" Jackson and Herbert Jackson; and sister, Clarine Jackson.
He is survived by his wife and love of 60 years, Charlene Jackson; son, Al Junior and wife, Ronda Jackson; daughter, Carol Jackson and partner, Mark Noyes; son, Wayne Jackson and husband, Scott Cloutier; daughter, Theresa Michaud and partner, Rick Poulin; daughter-in-law, Brenda J.Y. Jackson, seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence Jackson and wife, Geraldine; and sister, Lorraine Thibeault.
Family and friends can show their respects at Birmingham Funeral Home in Old Town from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Parish of the Resurrection, St. Ann's Catholic Church, Bradley. The interment ceremony will be held at a later date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family would prefer any donations be made to one of the following: American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, or the National Kidney Foundation.
