

Bradley – Althea C. Morgan Fournier, 82, died May 9, 2010 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 4, 1927 in Bradley, ME, daughter of Elmer and Velma Morgan. She graduated Old Town High School, Class of 1945. She worked at Kagan and Lown shoe manufactory for many years. Althea was a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and the Ladies of St. Ann’s. One of the most important things in Althea’s life was being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and family and for the last few years of her life looked forward to her summer outings at Parks Pond.
Althea is survived by daughters Sharon Simpson and her husband Russell, Carol McCannell and her husband Ron, Barb Nadeau and her husband Tom; sons, Michael Fournier and his wife Dawn, and Peter and his wife Lisa; grandchildren, Sean and Shay Bell, Shannon Coiley, Ryan McCannell and his partner Jon Breeding, Christy Harvey and husband Mike, Shane McCannell and his wife Shonna, Beth Gerald and her husband Rodney, Kari Tremblay and Anthony Garthright, Tami Nadeau, Jodi Davis and her husband Chad, Kati Nadeau and fiancée Frank Merrill, Joshua Fournier, Corey Fournier, Brady Fournier, Adam Fournier, Megan Fournier, Robin Young and Jay Simpson; great grandchildren, Tommy, Landon, Maddie, Rod, Eli, Anthony, Morgan, Aaron, Tyler, Connor, Alex, Jake, Tegbaru, Brent, and Josh. She is also survived by her sister in law Bonnie Morgan and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Althea is predeceased by her husband Richard, and infant son Richard, a granddaughter Tiffany Bell, son-in-law Charlie Coiley, brothers Galen and his wife Dot, Warren Morgan and his wife Connie, and Lawrence “Buddy” Morgan; brother and sister-in-laws, Ed and Connie Smey, Dick and Gloria Higgins, and Kenneth and Henrietta Fournier.
Our heartfelt thanks to our sister Barb and her husband Tom and their family for opening up their home, allowing our mother to spend the last few years at home, with grace and dignity.
Family and friends are invited to call from 5-8pm on Thursday, May 13, at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, with the Old Town Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary conducting a prayer service at 6pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Friday, May 14 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Main St., Bradley. Interment will be afterward at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Old Town.
