

Old Town—Anny E. Godin, 82, deer mother and grandmother died peacefully December 10, 2010 at Maine Veterans Home, Bangor. She was born in Wiesbaden, Germany Nov 6, 1928 daughter of Emil and Johanna (Mitter) Albrecht.
Anny was a warbride, having met her husband Joe during his deployment in the U.S. Air Force to Germany during WWII. She returned with him to the United States and was in such awe of all the amenities available, going to night school to learn English and becoming a legal U.S. citizen. Anny enjoyed all the travels associated with being married to a serviceman and looked forward to each move as a new adventure. She enjoyed camping, sports, baking sugar cookies and fruitcakes, knitting mittens, afghans, and clothing, crafts, and family celebrations. Her family and friends gave her a very fulfilling life and she appreciated all those who loved and cared for her.
She is survived by three children Therese Godin, Dianne Everett and her husband Tom, and Tommy Godin; four grandchildren Stacey, Donny, Jeremy, Josh, Josh’s mom Michelle and #3 daughter Debbie, sisters-in-law Doris and Bernice, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, her parents, and brother Max.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff of B-unit at Maine Veterans Home, Bangor for their wonderful care and compassion shown to Anny during the last 19 months.
A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday December 15, 2010 at 2PM at the Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main Street, Old Town. Spring burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
