

She was born January 27, 1928 in Hartford, CT a daughter of George and Helen Gillette.
Betty attended Winsted High School, Winsted, CT and married Harry L. Carpenteri, July 3, 1958 in Hartford, CT. She worked and resided in Manchester, CT for many years before moving to Milo and then Veazie, ME. She was a devoted wife and mother. She loved time spent with her family, was an avid reader – especially Tom Clancey novels, enjoyed crossword and word search puzzles, NASCAR, and cooking for her husband and family.
She is survived by her loving husband Harry L. Carpenteri; children Edwin J. Ciolkosz, Michael J. Ciolkosz and wife Shirley, Stephen D. Carpenteri, Janet E. LaForest and husband Tom, and Trish Hayes; Grandchildren David Ciolkosz, Alan Ciolkosz, Ronnie Ciolkosz, Timmy Ciolkosz, Debbie Ciolkosz West, Christine Ciolkosz, Michelle Ciolkosz, Michael Miller, Rebecca LaForest, Danielle LaForest; 23 Great-grandchildren, 8 Great-great-grandchildren 3 brothers Les Curnow and wife Joy, Al Curnow and wife Dotty, Ben Waniski and wife Judy; many nieces, nephews, close friends, and a special grand-dog, Gussie. She was predeceased by a daughter Nancy C. Miller, two grandsons Bradley G. Miller III and Patrick J. Miller; and a sister Pat Elliott.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to her wonderful caregivers from Gentiva, the Helen Hunt Health Center, the staff of Grant 6 and CARE at EMMC for their support and compassionate care given to Betty.
A service to celebrate her life will be announced at a later date. She loved all children, especially infants. In lieu of flowers please make donations to a children’s charity of your choice.
