Blanche Loretta Corbett, age 73, of West Paris, Maine passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Norway Center for Health and Rehabilitation. She was born on January 1, 1949 on Indian Island, Maine, the daughter of Ralph and Mary Grace (Paul) Nicola.
She graduated from John Bapst High School in Bangor, Maine and went on to attend Beals Business College also located in Bangor, Maine. She married the love of her life Howard “Bud” Corbett on September 10, 1971, to whom she was married until his passing in 2014. She served as Tribal Clerk for the Penobscot Nation for many years before relocating to South Paris, Maine with her husband and children. She went on to work at Paris Manufacturing in South Paris, Maine and later became executive secretary at TD Bank in Oxford, Maine where she remained until she retired. In her younger years Blanche enjoyed reading books, knitting, and playing bingo with friends. Blanche also enjoyed attending dances, and she and Bud were a joy to watch as they glided around the dance floor. She was an amazing cook best known for holiday meals, chicken pie, biscuits, and amazing desserts to name only a few. She loved to shop and was always searching for the perfect outfit or accessory to reflect her fashionable style. She also loved animals and provided a loving home for many dogs, cats, and even horses over the years. Blanche had a vibrant personality, an amazing sense of humor, and loved to have fun. She was incredibly thoughtful and always looked for ways to make each birthday and holiday special. Above all else, Blanche was a loving, caring, and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family more than anything in the world. Her family will forever cherish the pure and unconditional love she provided for her children and grandchildren as she looked for ways to always support and help them in any way possible.
Blanche is survived by daughters Andrea Lacomb and husband Joe of Norway, Maine, Melanie Corbett and significant other Darick Whitney of West Paris, Maine, Darcie Rowell and husband Troy of Cumming, Georgia; son Howard Corbett and wife Demi of Indian Island, Maine; grandchildren Grace Lacomb, JT Lacomb, Kassie Corbett, Samantha Lobozzo and fiancé Matthew Langlin, Leslie Cox Jr., DJ Corbett Whitney, Sydney Rowell and fiancé Samuel Speir, Camden Rowell, Xenia Corbett, Asia Bushman, and Taio Bushman; brother Ralph Nicola and wife Pat of Indian Island, Maine; nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends she made throughout her life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 28 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 6 Down Street, Indian Island, Maine with a reception to follow at Sockalexis Arena.
