Charles “Charlie” Kenneth Lanpher, 26, passed away unexpectedly on September 28, 2023. He was born June 17, 1997, in Biddeford, Maine. Charlie was the son of John A. Lanpher and Corinne L. Lanpher, of Hampden, Maine. He especially enjoyed spending quality time with his two daughters, Edith (age 7) and Esther (age 6), his girlfriend, Rachel “Rache”, and best dog ever, Moo-Moo. Charlie was a very important person for so many people including family and friends throughout Maine and beyond. He will be deeply missed.
Charlie was a 2015 graduate of Mt. Ararat High School in Topsham, Maine.
For his age, Charlie had accomplished much. He was an excellent marksman and a good mechanic. He was an Army veteran and Apache Helicopter mechanic while in the service and he also earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon. He was a graduate of Eastern Maine Community College’s HVAC associate degree program and held several certificates of accomplishment. Charlie was currently working at Bangor Housing Authority as a lead maintenance technician. He loved his job and the people he worked with. His friend and co-worker Adam has been a great comfort to the family during this difficult time.
Charlie was an avid outdoorsman who looked for any opportunity to be either hunting or fishing. It was a family tradition that he really enjoyed. He especially loved taking his girls fishing; and fall hunting was something he looked forward to all year long.
Charlie will be very much missed and fondly remembered by his loving parents Corinne and John; his brother Stephen and his wife Brittney, and their two children Corey and Hayley. Charlie had a large extended family including maternal grandparents, Helen and Llewellyn Francis of Searsport, paternal grandmother Janice Lanpher and James Gallo of Bradford; aunts Rita, Teresa, Crystal "Taco”, Chris, Cheryl, Crystal G., and Monique; uncles, Danny, Dean, Jeff, Keith, Rick, Peter and Scott; cousins Amy, Christopher, Logan, Zackary, Carter, Ryan, Emily, Kenny, Stephen and Danny and Aunt Dianne and Terry Jay, Chad, Kyle, Nicole, Mino, Alex, Connor, Brianna, and Hannah; Kristie, Janessa, Raylin, Raquel and Albert. Charlie had many friends and co-workers who appreciated his strong friendship and sense of humor from the Fort Riley, Kansas Army base where he was stationed to many more friends and coworkers here in Maine as well.
