OLD TOWN—Clement F.X. “Bonhomme” Gallant, 87, died May 1, 2013 at a Bangor hospital after a bvrief illness. He was born February 6, 1926 in Old Town a son of Frank X. and Albina (Guitard) Gallant.
He was a WWII veterans having served with the US Army. He was employed at Old Town Shoe Co and University of Maine. He was a member of the Old Town VFW Post 3381.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Mary (Smart) Gallant of Old Town; a daughter Linda Crocker and her husband Fred of Bangor; four grandchildren Tobey Crocker of Bangor, Benjamin Crocker and his Michelle of Old Town, Donita Gallant-Richard of Old Town, Christopher Gallant of MA;three great grandchildren Kelsey Gallant, Izabel Crocker-Smith, Ben Crocker; three sisters Hazel Corriveau of Howland, and Marianne Violette of Orono; Mary Jordan of Bangor; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two children Tony Gallant, Clement Gallant Jr.; sisters Mildred LeBlanc, Rita Harrison, Martina Spinney, Pauline Lucas, Joan Price, two brothers John and Nelson Gallant.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM Tuesday at Parish of the Resurrection, Holy Family Church, Old Town. Interment with military honors will be at Riverside Cemetery, Orono. Immediately following graveside services all are invited back to the Holy Family Parish Center for a light luncheon and continued fellowship.
