Clement, a beloved husband, father, pepere, great-pepere and friend, will be greatly missed by those who knew him. Clement joined the U.S. Army in 1946, and proudly served his country as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division. He served during World War II and was stationed in Yamagata, Japan. Clement was a jack-of-all-trades who was very crafty and was able to fix anything if it broke. After his retirement from James River Co., he began making ice fishing pack baskets to stay busy. He was always very close to his family and enjoyed fishing and hockey, especially cheering on the University of Maine's Black Bears.
Clement is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Therese (Gilbert); four sons, Philip Roy and his wife, Peggy, Michael Roy and his wife, Lainie, Charlie Roy and his significant other, Sarah, and Mark Roy; six grandchildren, Kelly Roy, Joanna Campbell and her husband, Kyle, Derik Roy, Cassie Roy and her fiance, Wendell Scott, Ashley and Tyler; three great-grandchildren, Aiden Campbell, Landen Roy and Kiera Scott; three sisters, Elaine, Jeanette and Shirley Jean; brother, Nelson; many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, Clement was predeceased by two brothers, Victor Jr. and Francis; and a daughter-in-law, Cindy.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation 10-11 a.m. Friday, May 27, at Birmingham Funeral Home, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. A burial with full military honors will be at Milford Cemetery. Afterwards, all are invited to a light luncheon at the Parish hall at Holy Family Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Clement's honor may be made to the Building Fund at Resurrection of the Lord Parish, 429 Main St., Old Town, ME 04468.
