Dennis Paul Sullivan Jr.

LINCOLN - Dennis Paul Sullivan Jr., 33, left this earth and walked for the first time through the gates of heaven April 2, 2012, after fighting pneumonia. He was born March 10, 1979, at Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla., to Dennis P. Sr. and Peggy A. (Blanchard) Sullivan. From birth he was never able to walk or talk, and was 100% dependent on the care of others due to his disabilities. He never met a stranger and always had a smile for those around him. There are so many people during his lifetime who made his quality of life so perfect. You know who you are and his family thanks you from the bottom of their hearts, for loving him. He attended school in Bangor at AMICUS - Edward J. Bouchea Center for Learning. Dennis enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to his "Jam" friends, watching movies, listening to country music, spending time with his Bouchea family and camping. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Peggy and Joe Wickett of Hernando, Fla.; his father, Dennis P. and wife, Syrina, and sister, Tiffany Cortez of Casselberry, Fla. Dennis was so lucky to have another set of parents for the past 18 years, Darrell and Shirley Ross of Lincoln; the care and unconditional love they gave to him was beyond measure. Their children and grandchildren loved Dennis as their brother and as part of the family, and they will miss him so very much. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Carrie Anne; his maternal grandparents, Charles Blanchard and Myrna Smith; his uncle, Ronnie Blanchard; and his paternal grandparents, Daniel and Charlotte Sullivan. To the staff and doctors at Penobscot Valley Hospital, Lincoln, a special thank you for the excellent care, the respect, compassion and dignity he was given at the end of his life here on earth. God bless each of you. At the request of the family, there will be no public service at this time and a memorial service will be at a later date. The family wants each of you to remember Dennis' smile and those big blue eyes, and most important his unconditional love he had for each of you.
