Dorothy Mae (Francis) Kennedy Greenbush—Dorothy Mae (Francis) Kennedy, 81, went home to be with her Lord on June 5, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born May 21, 1938 in Olamon, Maine a daughter of J. Clifford and Lillian (Briggs) Francis. After graduating from Old Town High School in 1956, her first job was with Beneficial Finance. In 1957, she married high school sweetheart and later worked at the University of Maine in the 4H department. She left the work force to become a full time mom for many years. As her youngest child started high school, she went back to work for Ames Department Store in Orono. When her husband retired in 1993, she did also. She was a longtime member of the United Baptist Church of Old Town and spent many years serving there. Early on she worked as church secretary for Pastor Jack Christiansen. Dorothy also enjoyed spending time with family, playing the piano, camping, reading and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years (10 days shy of 62) Edmund Kennedy; children Matthew (Laurie ) Kennedy of Greenbush, Deborah (Randy) Ramp of Milford, Keith (Wendy) Kennedy of Holden, Victoria Kennedy of Greenbush; sister-in-law Janice Madore of Brewer and brother-in-law Glen (Peggy) Kennedy of Lady Lake, FL; 12 grandchildren, 8 (soon to be nine) great grandchildren many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by five sisters Jeanette Rice, Joan Murphy, Catherine Brown, Jane McCullough, Joyce Oliver. A celebration of her life gathering will be 5-8PM Monday at the Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St Old Town. Burial will be at a later at the Cardville Cemetery, Greenbush. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Baptist Church 86 Middle Street Old Town, ME 04468 or to the American Diabetes Association

We still have one of her "Scrubbies" sitting on the sink at home. I liked them very much and will have to bring it to camp.
