Irene Jane Haverlock

GREENBUSH—Irene J. Haverlock, 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior February 15, 2021. She was born in the village of Olamon on August 16, 1937, a daughter of Carl E. and Helen V. (Smart) Dunn.

Family was paramount to Irene’s life. Christmas time was a highlight for her. It brought her much joy to shower every family member with their Christmas wishes and more. Many will remember her as a fun-loving lady who loved God and her family.

Irene was a charter member of the Olamon Faith Bible Church for over 65 years. She will be remembered by the people of Olamon and those who knew her well in such ways as the camera lady, often being able to provide photos of people or events for which someone in the community was looking; the lollipop lady, providing lollipops to the children after the morning church service; and someone who truly looked to the needs of others over those of herself. Her universal signature- red lipstick. Never was she without it.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years Edward Haverlock Sr., 3 children, Brent Haverlock and wife Julie, Heidi Carroll, Heather Smith and husband James, daughter-in-law Ella Smart; she was known as Grammie Olamon to her grandchildren, Chad Haverlock and wife Kristie, Angie Madden and husband Andrew, Stacie Haverlock, Sarah Thibeault, Victoria Cockerill and husband Rhett, Veronica Sibley and husband Marcus, Fernald Haverlock, Erica Milbourne and husband Paul, Nicole Douglas and husband James, Michelle Swope and husband Taylor, Michael Carroll, Katie Smith and Cody Smith; great grandchildren, Brieghanna and Zachary Haverlock, Caden and Mackenzie Madden, Gracie and Grant Thibeault, Scarlett and Gibson Cockerill, Marshall and Regan Sibley, MacKenzie, Emerson, Euan, and Liam Milbourne, Mac, Bailey, Carmen, and Hugh Douglas, Barrett and Cullen Swope; sister, Veda Madden and husband Carroll; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. SHE LOVED US WELL. She was predeceased by her parents; son, Edward Haverlock Jr.; sisters, Evelyn, Martha, and Melissa and brother, Carl.

Irene was such a joy to be around. She always had a smile on her face and was joyful. I'm so sorry for her family, there will certainly be a big hole in your lives. ...but knowing she is resting peacefully and happy in the arms of her savior, Jesus Christ will give you hope and healing. I grew up in Olamon & have known Irene my whole life. I will remember Irene as a wonderful, caring & beautiful loving woman who was very proud of her family & her faith in God! She always had reddest lips 💋 of anyone I've ever known. My condolences to all of family. ❤

Growing up, I spent alot of time in Olamon at the Haverlocks, my second home! Irene was like a second mother and always treated me special. I always got a hug and kiss from her after I was grown and would see her. She always has had a very special place in my heart.
