OLD TOWN—Jim Boynton, 56, died peacefully with family around him January 15, 2022. He was born March 9, 1965 in Millinocket, a son of John Jr. and Carole (Powers) Boynton.
Jim will be affectionately remembered for his sense of humor, his laugh, the memes he shared, and for making everyone have a good time. He was a loving husband, father, son and friend; a soldier of Christ who guarded his family. He has been a longtime member of the Bradley Fellowship and a member of AA for 33 years. When he was not working for Sunbelt, he could be found exploring, traveling, geocaching, or riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years Cathy; his mother Carole Boynton of Lincoln; children Angela Lenhert and her husband Zack of Lewiston, Tina Michaels of Old Town, Rhonda Michaels and her partner Kevin Morneault of Orrington, David Michaels and his wife Tammy of Bangor, Adam Michaels of East Millinocket; grandchildren who he was Papa to: Paige, Tyler, Daniel, Parker, Michael, Xander, Harper, Evelynn, Teddy, Daphne, Anna, Alex, Kacey, Ally and Kristen; brother John Boynton III and his wife Karen of Belfast, sister Vesta Wyman and her husband Philip of Millinocket, special family Jaimie and Chad Day and their children Ian, Logan, and Oliver of Patten; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father John C. Boynton Jr.
A special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Joseph Hospital for the wonderful and compassionate care given to Jim and to the love shown to the family. Thank you.
A celebration of life gathering will be held January 30, 2022 from 1-3PM at the Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St Old Town where prayers will be said by Pastor Randy Washington at 3PM. Spring interment will be at East Millinocket Cemetery.
