

Margaret grew up in Milford and graduated from Old Town High School Class of 1939. She married Frank H. Comeau on May 6, 1943. She was employed at the University of Maine and later as a Bookkeeper/Teller at the Old Town First Federal Savings and Loan.
Margaret had a strong sense of community and church. She was a member of the Old Town Housing Authority since 1972, served as Chairwoman for twenty-two years, and retired in 2021. In gratitude for her many years of service to the Housing Authority, the Meadows Residential Care Facility Activities Room was named in her honor in 2013.
Margaret was active in the Old Town Community and worked at the voting polls for many years. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Community at St. Mary’s and later at Holy Family Church, Parish of the Resurrection. She was a former Eucharistic Minister, worked on church receptions, suppers and assisted recording weekly offertory collections and bookkeeping. She enjoyed family gatherings, crossword puzzles, Bingo, walking at the YMCA and the Meadows and following the New York Yankees and the Boston Celtics. Family and friends will miss her contagious smile, and wonderful peanut butter fudge.
She is survived by her son, Frank Comeau, Jr. and his wife Margaret; her son, Brother Stephen Comeau, CFX; granddaughter Julie Reeves and her husband Jonathan; grandson Scott Comeau and his fiancée Marguerite; great grandchildren Nathan and Abby Reeves, Kari and her husband Luke Bartlett; three great great grandchildren Autumn, Jace and Brynnlee Bartlett. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and special niece Ellen Johndro and her husband Rick; and special nephew Walter Dow, Jr. and his wife Maureen.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Frank, Sr., and her eleven siblings – Mabel, Florent, Francis, Madeline, Lumena, Imelda, Joseph, Harry, Lawrence, Florence and Marion.
The family wishes to especially thank Nancy and Sue at The Meadows and their wonderful staff for the passionate and loving care. Margaret loved them all!
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM Saturday July 9, 2022 at Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord, Holy Family Church, Old Town. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Old Town. The mass will be livestreamed on the church website https://resurrectionofthelord.org/. Immediately following the services all are invited to the Parish Hall for a light luncheon and continued fellowship.
