MILFORD – Mary Scott Libby, 90, the matriarch of the Libby family, died peacefully with family by her side, May 18, 2018 at a Bangor hospital. She was born, January 18, 1928 in Lincoln, the only child of William and Della (Tripp) Scott.
Mary was a devoted and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and proud homemaker. Family was everything to her and will be fondly remembered for the amazing home cooks meals and fresh desserts she so lovingly prepared. She made everyday special, but holidays and birthdays always stood out. She enjoyed Sunday rides with her husband, and family trips to the coast. She loved time at camp, creating many memories with her husband and children. Mary enjoyed arts and crafts and was a founding member of the Waldo County Art Co-op. She supplied many craft stops in the area. She was a member of Stillwater TOPS for 12 years.
She is survived by three sons Seth Libby Jr. and his wife Nelly of Eddington, Scott Libby and his significant other Staci McLaughlin of Milford, Douglas Libby and his wife Laurie of Milford; four daughters Linda Northrop and her husband Phillip of NY, Barbara Ouellette and her husband Richard of Milford, Rosemary Libby of Milford, and Elizabeth Sherman and her husband Glenwood of Greenbush; 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband of 66 years Seth Libby Sr. in 2015, grandson Brent Northrop, granddaughter Kayla Libby,
Friends may call 6-8PM Wed at the Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St Old Town, ME 04468. A funeral service will be conducted 2PM Thursday at the funeral home.
