OLD TOWN - Mary G. Perkins went home to be her Lord and Savior, Feb. 12, 2012. Mary passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born Sept. 25, 1929, in Blaine. She later moved to Old Town in 1984. She was the daughter of the late Gertrude and Howard Cousins. Mary attended the Apostolic Church of Pea Cove with her children. Before the move to Old Town, she was a longtime member of Old Fashioned Revival Center of Blaine. Mary's hobbies were crocheting and cooking. Her life was centered around her family; spending all of her free time and energy with those she loved. After the passing of her husband in 1981, she raised six children as a single mother. She was a mother that any child would be proud to call mom. She worked hard and devoted her life to her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald; sons, Donald Jr. and Dalton; grandson, Matthew Perkins; and her sister, Olive Cousins. Mary is survived by her sons and daughters, Lewis and Gerri (Perkins) Cushman of Florida and Steuben, the Rev. Terry and Donna (Perkins) Campbell of Milford, the Rev. Dana and Laura Perkins of Dedham, James and Lois (Perkins) Miller of Glenburn, Stephen and Jeannie Perkins of Old Town, Colin and Debbie (Perkins) Bartlett of Orient, Wayne and Sandra (Perkins) Robbins of Old Town, Terry and Kathy Perkins of Corinth, Saeed and Tonya (Perkins) Nikkhah-Tehranian of Bangor, Galen and Christine Perkins of Old Town; a special daughter-in-law, Gloria Johnston of Kenduskeag; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and countless friends. She is also survived by two brothers, Henry Cousins of Mars Hill and Lemuel Cousins of North Carolina. Friends and family may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at First Apostolic Church of Brewer, Parkway South, Brewer, with her son, the Rev. Dana Perkins officiating.
