BRADLEY - Mary Elizabeth Thibault, 94, died peacefully Oct. 15, 2010, with her family by her side, at her residence. She was born March 26, 1916, in Orono, a daughter of Joseph T. and Annie E. (Major) Dugas. Mary was an organist at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Bradley, for more than 40 years; a member of Ladies of St. Ann's Sodality; and part of a sewing circle, where long term friendships with neighbors started and grew. Childhood friends still live in Orono, where Mom had many precious memories of her growing years. She also played for many minstrel shows in the area. She spent a great deal of her time each day reading her favorite books. The Thibault's yard was always filled with school chums, beginning with Joe's and continuing with Ann, Norma and Irene. Kids gravitated there to play and, on Mom's baking day, to have a hot molasses cookie. When in need, friends and neighbors could expect a platter of sandwiches or Mary's walnut cake, usually both. She was known for her kindness and loved by many for her generosity. She is survived by her children, Joseph Thibault and his wife, Mary Carmen, of Jacksonville, Fla., Ann Smith and her husband, Leroy "Bud," of Bradley, Norma Cavicchio and her husband, Cosmo, of Billerica, Mass., and Irene Khavari and her husband, Ali Toraj, of Tigard, Ore.; grandchildren, Robert Smith and his wife, Marsha, Catherine Smith, Christen Dhimo and husband, Ervin, Laren Cavicchio, Julie Cavicchio and fiance, Sigfried Guzman, and Tiffany Thibault; great-grandchildren, Darcy Bond and her husband, Shane, Amanda Smith and fiance, Mark Peters, Andrea, Stoney and Sebastian Barrett-Thibault, Ella Beth Guzman and Drita Dhimo; and a great-great-grandchild, Mason Shane Bond. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Leon J. Thibault; a son, John Paul; her parents; brothers, William Raymond, Lawrence Eben, Francis Louis and Everest Walter; and a grandson, Christopher Leon Khavari. A very special thank you to her special caregiver, Cindy Puiia; Hospice of Eastern Maine for giving her great care and comfort; two very special volunteers, Joan Letourneau and Peggy Ford; very special friends, Mona and Paul Gallant; and a very special granddaughter, Cathy for all her wonderful care of Gram. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Bradley. Interment will be afterward at Evergreen Cemetery, Bradley. Immediately after the service, everyone is invited back to St. Ann's for a light luncheon and continued fellowship. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Eastern Maine, care of Eastern Maine HomeCare, Healthcare Charities, P.O.
