Marylyn C. (Hutchinson) O’Clair OLD TOWN – Marylyn C. Hutchinson O’Clair, 80 died peacefully November 4, 2019 with family by her side at a Bangor hospital. She was born August 15, 1939 in Old Town a daughter of Clarence and Levina Denning Hutchinson. Marylyn was a 1958 graduate of Old Town High School and retired from the University of Maine after 25 years. She met with her classmates once a month for lunch at Governors in Old Town. She was a member of the Bangor Singles since 1993 where she booked the bands for their weekly dances and ran the door on dance nights as well. She sold Avon for over 25 years. She was an avid UMaine Hockey and Football fan. It has been a long-time joke that when she went to the bathroom during a hockey game, Maine would score. We only wished that she had gone to the bathroom more often. She was proud to make Coach Whitehead’s sandwich for him daily while they both worked at the University of Maine. She enjoyed Monday night Bingo at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Above all else, Marylyn enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her family and many friends. She is survived by her children, Linda O’Clair of Bangor, Alan O’Clair and his wife Lorna of Old Town, Glenn O’Clair and his wife Junan of Lutz, Florida, Brian O’Clair and his wife Karen of Bradley and daughter in-law Sherri Parent; nine grandchildren who remember her as Grambie, Michael and his wife Jenn, Marisa, Jessica, Lindsay and her significant other Nate, Ryan, Jami and her significant other Zachary, Joshua, Dallas and Jordan; five great grandchildren, Carter, Marlee, Eli, Gwen and Olivia.; brothers Clarence Hutchinson and his wife Luanne, Lawrence Hutchinson and his fiancé Ann, Roger Hutchinson and his partner Gary Turner and Nancy Cozzi and husband David; two sisters-in-law, Rolande and Tammy O’Clair; several nieces, nephews and cousins including special cousins Lynwood Randall, Harry, Chellis and Carlton Sanborn. She was predeceased by her husband of 33 years Dana O’Clair, son Bruce O’Clair, her parents, brother Fred Hutchinson, a special aunt and uncle Freda and Elmer Sanborn; step-mother Anita Hutchinson; and two special friends Irma Parent and Marlene Jack. The family is very grateful and would like to thank Drs. Jean Jacques and Barbara Vereault and the fifth-floor nurses at St. Joseph’s Hospital for taking really good care of her through the years and right to the end as well as the Emergency Department and the first responders from Engine 6, Bangor as well as the staff at Ross Manor.
