Maureen A Talon

Otis - Maureen Talon, 73, of Otis, ME, and Sun City Center, FL, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2023, in Bangor, with her family by her side. She was born May 11, 1950, in Hartford, CT, the daughter of the late Daniel and Aggie Shea.

Maureen graduated from Framingham (MA) High School in 1968. In 1969 she married the love of her life, Mark. Soon after they started a family and moved to Maine, to raise 3 adventurous boys. While raising a family she earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Maine in Social Work. Maureen worked as a case worker at Maine DHHS for 25 years, retiring in 2008. As a case worker she taught high school students life skills and shared her love of Maine outdoor adventures.

After retirement, Maureen enjoyed summers on Beech Hill Pond in Otis, with family and friends. Some of her favorite moments were the many boat rides, campfires, and the 4th of July gatherings. Maureen spent the colder months in Sun City Center, FL, going to beaches and spending time by the pool. Maureen had many hobbies including jewelry making, arts and crafts with the grandkids, kayaking, hiking and she was a member of the Rock Steady Boxing Club to help fight the onset of Parkinson's Disease.

Maureen is survived by her husband, Mark Talon, of 53 years; sons, Michael Talon and wife, Marion, of Old Town, ME, Brian Talon and wife, Shawna, of Southington, CT, and Shaun Talon of Kingfield, ME; grandchildren, Delilah, Isabella, Gabriel, Abigail, Lily, Skylah, Emma, Thomas, and Sara; great-grandchildren, Nikolas and Evelyn; sister, Patricia and husband, Arthur Clark; and good friends, David and Rhonda Lucas.

A celebration of life will be held with family and friends at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in Maureen's memory to Parkinson Place, 5969 Cattleridge Blvd., Suite 100 Sarasota, FL 3423
