Lagrange—Melissa A. “Missy” LeClair, 47, died peacefully at home February 16, 2019 with her loving family by her side following a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born May 19, 1971 in East Providence, RI a daughter of Stephen and Marilyn (Martins) Mattos.
Missy was a 1989 graduate of East Providence High School and 1994 graduate of Rhode Island College. She was employed as a licensed social worker in the health care setting for over 25 years having worked at Ross Manor, Westgate Manor, St. joseph Hospital and Bangor City Nursing. She was a dedicated, meticulous and organized person, both in her work and personal life. Missy was a strong and loyal woman who lived her faith. She was a loving, caring and devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed supporting her daughters in their school and sport activities. Holidays always played a special part in her life and she enjoyed Halloween and Christmas the most. She enjoyed to travel, especially trips to Las Vegas and Cocoa Beach, FL.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years John “Jay” LeClair; two daughters Miranda and Martie LeClair; brother Stephen Mattos and his daughter Amber Mattos of RI; mother and father-in-law John “Jack” and Patricia LeClair of Lagrange, ME; brother-in-law Raymond LeClair and his wife Jennifer of NV and their son Christopher; sister-in-law Catherine Cooper and her husband Michael of RI and their children Tanya, Michael, and Cheyenne; and brother-in-law Paul LeClair of RI; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents.
Friends may gather 5-8PM Thursday at the Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM Friday at Parish of the Resurrection, Holy Family Church, 438 Main St Old Town. Immediately following the service, all are invited to the Parish Hall for a light luncheon and continued fellowship. Spring burial wil be in Hillside Cemetery, Lagrange.
