

BRADLEY—Nancy L. (Desjardins) Lobley died peacefully surrounded by family Thanksgiving morning, November 25, 2010, at a local hospital. She was born June 17, 1930 in Worcester, MA a daughter of Joseph A. and Madeline H. (Morrison) Desjardins. Nancy’s life revolved around caring for others. Through raising eight children, being a loving wife, and her various occupations, Nancy always offered loving support. Through her working career she was employed at the State Hospital in Bangor, provided foster care to children with disabilities, respite care for clients of DHS, and served as a director for the Eastern Area Agency on Aging. She loved time spent at the family camp, Kinder Cove, at Pushaw Lake. She was a life long learner. Having left school at an early age, she went on to get her GED. She took refresher classes in math and science at Old Town High School with her daughter Laura to prepare for course work at the University of Maine. She was an amazing seamstress and made many of her children’s outfits. She had the “can do” attitude that allowed her to tackle any projects around her home. She enjoyed caning chairs, refinishing furniture, gardening and needlework. She was a perfectionist in all she did. She devoted a lot of time and energy to various groups, organizations and boards including the Ladies of St. Ann, the Cursillo Movement, Square Knots and Polka Dots, the PTA, and PenQuis CAP. She also served as town clerk and treasurer for the Town of Bradley. Nancy was married to Chet Climo for over 30 years. She is survived by seven children Deborah Dunnell and her husband John of Buxton, Leanna Plucker and her husband Jeffrey of Topsham, Laura Rich and her husband Carl of Falmouth, Terrie Maxson and her husband Lewis of Aurora, WI, Nancy Lee Climo Jr. of Bangor, Tony Climo and his wife Vicki of Johnson City, NY and David Climo and his wife Robin of Bradley; three step-children David Lobley of Rochester, IA, Joseph Lobley and his wife Ann of Waldoboro, and John Lobley and his wife Lisa of Port Washington, NY; 16 grandchildren Brian, John II, Renae, Cody, Zachary, Alexander, Bruce, Benjamin, Sarah, Justin, Layna, Cullen, Kyle, Erin, Cassidy, and Carly; five step-grandchildren, many great grandchildren; four siblings Richard Desjardins and his wife Jill of NM, Lynn Madden and her husband Donald of Milford, Pamela Hathaway and her husband Allen of Manassas, VA and Phillip Ouellette and his wife Rhonda of Old Town; many nieces and nephews; special friends Doug and Donna Comstock, and Ann and Ed Delaware. She was predeceased by a son Bruce Joseph; her husband Robert Lobley, sister Betty Panella and her parents. Friends may call 5-7PM Monday at the Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main Street Old Town. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10AM Tuesday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Bradley. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Old Town. Immediately following the service at the cemetery, all are invited back to the St. Ann Parish hall for a light luncheon.
