Dottie was always a very independent and strong woman. She worked hard throughout her life as a hand sewer at various shoe shops. Her family meant everything to her and she was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. If you knew Dottie, you knew she dealt with a lot of hardships throughout her life, but she always survived, she was one tough individual. Dottie enjoyed traveling the United States with her brother, Durfy and sister-in-law, Crystal, assisting with their business. The times spent with Durfy and Crystal created many memories and was certainly a high light of her life. She also volunteered in the foster "Grandparent Program" and enjoyed interacting with the children. She will be remembered for her log cabin quilts. She is survived by two daughters, Cathy and Norman Violette of Old Town and Ellen and Lee Dupuis of Orono; seven grandchildren, Craig and Natasha Violette of NC, Travis and Jen Violette of Old Town, Amy and Darrell Smith of Old Town, Nick Pike of WA, Zack and Kate Pike of Orono, Shannon and Darrin Marriner of Belfast and Wes Marquis of Milo; eight great-grandchildren, Paige and Reese Violette, Logan Violette, Garrett and Blaine Smith, Emma Pike, and Izik and Sydney Marriner; brother, Clifford Fleming of Milo; a special sister-in-law, who was like a sister, Crystal Fleming of FL; and a very close and special niece, Betty Batchelder of Enfield. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert "Sukie" McPhee, in 1993; and seven siblings, Ethel, Ellen, Robert, James, Alfred, Durfy and Rebecca. Dottie did not want a somber funeral, but rather a party, in staying with her wishes, a party to honor Dottie will be celebrated later this summer.
