

MILFORD—I know Peter would like to send out a big yellow smiley face to all who knew him, to put that smile on their faces.
Peter Thomas Bosse, 74, died January 22, 2022. Peter was born March 11, 1947 son of Thomas and Rosalie (Verhulst) Bosse. He liked to say he was conceived in Belgium, hatched in New Jersey, and grew up in Maine where he lived his whole life. He married the love of his life, Helena, June 14, 1975 and had four children.
Peter began his career as a self taught mechanic at the age of 15, and soon after started his business, Peter’s Repair. He was known as Mr. Volkswagen because of his experience, and later as Mr. Subaru. Peter was a longtime communicant of Holy Family Catholic Church, later when he married and had children, St. Ann’s Bradley became his church. He was a longtime member of the Old Town/ Orono Kiwanis, Rotary Club, Elks, Eagles, Masons, and Knights of Columbus. For almost 60 years, Peter has served as Santa Claus for many functions. He was extremely proud and will be fondly remembered as one of the Shriner clowns, aka “Dr. Lotta Fun” and spread his “feel good” cards around the world, wherever he went. He was known as the card guy by many. He was proud that during his time as president of the Rotary Club, he was able to help with the beginnings of Sarah’s House of Maine.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by son Jason Bosse. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 ½ years Helena; daughter Denise and her husband Michael, son Peter and his wife Lorraine and their son Alex, son Paul Jon and his children Leonidas and Rozalia; four brothers-in-law Marion Rudnicki, Karl Rudnicki and his wife Suzan, James Rudnicki and his wife Bern and Jon Rudnicki; four sisters-in-law Felicia Wiswell and her husband Donald, Pauline Neville and her husband Richard, Frances Beland and her husband Normand, Rosalia Adams and her husband Ronald; 37 nieces and nephews, 52 grand nieces and nephews, 23 great grand nieces and nephews. He truly loved his whole extended family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Friends will gather 5-8 PM Thursday January 27, 2022 at Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main Street Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM Friday January 28, 2022 at Parish of the Resurrection, Holy Family Church, 429 Main St, Old Town. Spring burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Old Town. The funeral mass will be livestreamed, please visit https://resurrectionofthelord.org/ . Facecoverings will be required, regardless of vaccination status.
