

Dick graduated from Old Town High School, where he excelled as a baseball and basketball player. After high school, Dick joined the US Army during the Vietnam War. Following his time in the service, he was dedicated employee who held several positions for the mill in Old Town, retiring after 36 years.
Being an avid outdoorsman, Dick loved hunting and fishing. Sports and muscle cars were two of his favorite things. He enjoyed watching his teams play, especially the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots. Dick was a loving husband to his wife of 41 years. He was a wonderful father and grandfather to his family, and he loved teasing and bantering. He will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by two sons, Michael Watson and Richard Jenkins; brother, Arnold Dupuis; and sister, Rosalie Marquis.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lynne “Iris” Gross; sons, Joe Dupuis and Christopher Gross; daughters, Cindy McFarland and Gina Gross; sisters, Patti and husband Cliff McCrary, Shirley and husband Don Ritchie, Beverly Sites; grandchildren, Luke, Dakota, Hope, Mack, Grace, Megan, Jamie, Jillyan, Alyssa, Brandon and Gavin; as well as many other extended family and special friends.
Family and friends are invited to call 12 -1pm, Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A funeral service will follow at 1pm, with Rev. Walter Dyer officiating. Burial with military honors will immediately follow the service at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Old Town. A light luncheon will follow the burial at the funeral home. Those who wish to remember Dick in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the Veteran’s Activities Fund at Maine Veteran’s Home, 44 Hogan Road, Bangor, ME 04401 or to any charity that supports our disabled Veterans.
