Rita R Fogarty

Old Town and Bangor - Rita Rose Fogarty, 83, passed away Friday, November 3, 2017. Rita was born September 7, 1934, daughter of Dennis and Marion (Paradis) Thibodeau. She was born, grew up, and lived the majority of her life in Old Town, Maine. She often spoke fondly of her childhood and school friendships, in particular the 'Jolly Juniors' club of friends and the enjoyment found in the simplicity of life.

A dedicated employee, Rita worked proudly for several decades at the University of Maine in Facilities Management. Rita will be remembered for her devotion to her family and home. She had a great love for decorating and could transform any space into something beautiful.

Rita is survived by her children: daughter, Gail of Bangor; daughter, Kathleen of Bangor; and son, Gary Fogarty and wife, Karen of Old Town; grandchildren, Patrick Fogarty and wife, Jolene; Nathan Fogarty and wife, Amanda; Jake Fogarty and wife, Rachel; and Abby Weeks and husband, Ryan; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Camden, Wyatt, and Sawyer.

We wish Rita now to find the warm returned embrace of her parents, husband, Larry Fogarty, and siblings, Norman, Clement, Leo, and beloved sister, Annette.
