Bob started working in the woods at a young age. He went on to work for a local carnival, shoe shop, Pie Plate, Purolator, and various mills retiring as a welder. Bob will be fondly remembered for enjoying the many road trips to Canada and camping and fishing vacations with Leo and Lelia and the many hours he spent hand sewing shoes with Leo. Riding scooters with brother-in-law Franklin and the boys from Penobscot Valley Acres Campground; and the yearly trips to Lester’s hunting camp spending time with his nephews Billy, Mike, Brian and Steve hunting and playing cards. Although he rarely returned with a deer, he always returned with more money in his pockets.
A special thank you to Gordan Richards for helping dad maintain his home in his time of need. Mike and Sue Richards for plowing, shoveling and their many visits. Dr. Ritter for his many years of caring for dad and especially for the home visit with dad the night before he passed. The girls at St. Joe’s Infusion Unit for their years of special care; and Becca Dill for her in home care and special bond she had with dad for the past few years.
As per his wishes, there will be no services and burial will be in the spring.
