He was a long time resident of the Milford area. Starting with humble beginnings he surpassed most. Beginning with farming potatoes, to wood logging with horses and machinery, sewing shoes for himself, in Massachusetts and at Old Town shoe. A mechanic at St. Regis Mill, other places and for family and friends. Lastly he owned several of his own businesses. With his son Sam, their construction company, Sam’s Trucking has had a permanent affect on the architecture of our towns. One example is the apartment buildings in Milford.
He loved a good joke, funny stories and had famous ones of his own. He loved animals, had a “Lassie” dog, worked with horses and even “broke” his own horse, which took him for one hell of a ride up Passadumkeag Mountain. He enjoyed going on vacation, riding his motorcycles and later became known for his bright red Slingshot, both in Maine and Florida.
Bobby will be missed by many people.
He is survived by his children Samuel R. Ketch, Jr. and his wife Joline, Hazel Ferland, Matt Ketch and his wife Heidi; five grandsons Samuel R. “Robbie” Ketch III and his wife Jenna, Henry Ferland and his wife Chrissy, Jacob Ferland, Alex Ferland and Simon Ketch; three great grandsons Samuel R. Ketch IV, Nolan Ketch and Nathan Ketch.
A graveside service at Gould’s Ridge Cemetery Passadumkeag will be held 2 PM Saturday June 18, 2022. A celebration of life will follow and will be announced at the ceremony.
