Old Town and Cape Cod, MA –Sheila M. Rogers, 55, died March 30, 2019 at a local hospital following a brief illness. She was born June 2, 1963 in Boston, MA. She was the adopted daughter of James E. and Frances F. (Harvey) Cowan.
She was raised if Fort Fairfield and graduated from FFHS, Class of 1982 and attended Thomas College. She went through the Friendly’s restaurant’s management training program and managed a Friendly’s restaurant in Orleans, MA. Sheila was also a successful Real Estate Agent on the Cape for several years. Upon returning to Maine, she worked at Lee Automall as a salesperson before illness forced her to stop working. She enjoyed playing cribbage and especially loved the weekend tournaments at the Elks Lodge, where she was an active member. She was a diehard Red Sox and Patriots fan.
Shelia was an amazing mother to her son Sean and really was a second mother to many of his friends. She was a friend to many, always willing to lend a helping hand.
She is survived by her father James Cowan, son Sean Rogers, granddaughter Eviana Marie Vinson, brother Christopher Cowan and his wife Suzzette; three nephews Chad, Kevin and Nicholas; close friends Belinda Doucette, Rhonda Smith, and Beth Hewitt. She was predeceased b mother Fran and her former husband John Rogers.
A memorial service will be conducted 2PM Friday at the Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St Old Town where friends may call from 1PM until time of service. A gathering will follow at the Elks Lodge. Burial will be at a later date at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town.
