BRADLEY—Theresa Mary DeGrasse, 92, died peacefully January 22, 2021 with family by her side. She was born March 18, 1928 in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Canada to Nizier and Annie (Michaud) Lavoie.
Theresa had a heart of gold, who loved her family immensely, known as Meme to many and had a strong circle of close friends. She loved her time at her camp on Chemo Pond and going for walks. She was employed for 19 years in housekeeping at the University of Maine. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Ann, Knight of Columbus Women’s Auxiliary, Old Town Senior Citizens, and bowled in the Knight of Columbus Bowling League.
She is survived by three children Billy DeGrasse and his wife Mary-Ellen, Gary DeGrasse and his wife Cathy, and Paula Oakes and her husband Wayne all of Bradley; four grandchildren Jill Walker and her fiancé Rob Gagner, Matthew DeGrasse and his wife Jessica of Bradley, Brian DeGrasse and his wife Erin of Bradley, and Janelle Oakes of Portland; 6 great grandchildren Rilee Walker of Bangor, Nicholas Himmerwright of Hampden, Mallory Walker of Hampden; Alexis, Jack and Charlie DeGrasse of Bradley; a brother Lucien Lavoie and his wife Ann of Bradley; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband John “Jack” DeGrasse in 2001; three sisters Simone Perro, Edwina Thibault, and Mary Ann Thibodeau and two brothers Rudolph Lavoie and Alban Lavoie.
The family wishes to extend a warm heart felt thank you to the staff of Visiting Angels and Hospice of St. Joseph for the wonderful and compassionate care shown to Theresa. A special thank you to her Granddaughter Jill who took time to care for her Meme in her last week.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Catholic Church Bradley in the Spring. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in the Spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the St Ann’s Building Fund Parish of the Resurrection 429 Main St Old Town 04468
