

Tim graduated from Lisbon High School and Gorham State Teachers College. He went on to teach industrial arts at Old Town High School for five years then Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute for twenty six years. He owned several apartment buildings in Old Town and ran Canoe City Video and Appliance in partnership with Stanley Peterson. He was active on many city committees including the Airport Advisory Board and took great interest in the airport’s development.
Getting his pilot’s license was his dream that came true in 1994. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and built several airplanes with his “cronies”, especially his own Wag-a-Bond.
Tim built many houses in Old Town, including his own home on the Penobscot River. He was very proud of the camp he built on Pleasant River Lake in Beddington, ME and loved time spent there with his family.
He was a faithful communicant of Holy Family Church serving on several committees over the years and was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus #2537.
He was survived by his beloved wife Joan (Ayotte) Letourneau of 56 years and his three sons and their wives: David and Shari (Beaulieu) Letourneau of Bowdoinham, ME, Jeffrey and Deborah (MacRoy) Letourneau of Old Town, ME, Brain Letourneau of Hampden, ME and his brother Leroy Letourneau of Bowdoin, ME. He leaves his beloved grandchildren Kathryn Letourneau, Adam Letourneau and his wife Sarah, Nicholas Letourneau, Jacob Letourneau, Lucas Letourneau, Joel York and his fiancee Brooke Cardali, Samantha Caswell and her husband Eric, and one great grandchild Hailey Caswell. He was predeceased by his father, Roland Letourneau, his mother Winifred (Freeman) Letourneau, his sister Leah Smith and his daughter-in-law Frances (Walker) Letourneau.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 6-8pm, Thursday November 3, 2022 at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St. Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am, Friday, November 4 at Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord, Holy Family Catholic Church, 429 Main St., Old Town with Rev. James Plourde, celebrant. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to the EAA Chapter 827 Aviation Scholarship Fund ℅ Dan Coffey, Treasurer, 97 Eaton Ridge Dr., Holden, ME 04429 in support of the next generation of aviators.
