
HUDSON—Vartan “Sam” Ayvazian, 81, died August 18, 2011, at his residence after a long illness. Sam was born in Newton, Massachusetts March 2, 1930, a son of John M. and Bayzar (Kajarjian) Ayvazian.
Sam graduated from Newton High School and attended Bryant College. He proudly served his country, enlisted in the US Army during the Korean War. He loved flying and spent much time piloting his plane to many interesting places including the camp that he built on Lake Nicatous. He was the owner of Auto Truck Electric in Old Town and was highly regarded for his business skills and for being a straight shooter.
Sam was loved by all, and will be sorely missed by his friends and family. He was predeceased by his loving wife Ruth, his brother Edward, and his sister Valentine Megerian. He is survived daughter Debbie Madigan and her husband Ed and his grandson John of Jaffrey, NH; son John Ayvazian of Framingham, MA.
A graveside memorial service with military honors will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the Pushaw Cemetery, Hudson.
