Abbie Lorraine Nelson, 82, of Byhalia, MS went to be with the Lord Friday, May 28, 2021. Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gene Nelson; son, Donald Glenn “Donnie” Nelson; parents, Grady Herbert and Henrietta Virginia Parker; and brother, Grady Wayne Parker. She is survived by her sister, Virginia Gale Lail(Dallas); two nephews who were very special to her, Brandon W. Lail(Melony Tims-Lail) and Heath P. Lail; and many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Mrs. Nelson was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Byhalia where she taught Sunday School. She worked as a bookkeeper for Jordan Gravel Company. After Jordan Gravel Company she worked for a dress shop in Olive Branch and later for Don Sappington. Along with her professional work, she was a homemaker for her family. In her younger years, she helped with the local Boy Scouts troop. She loved the Lord, her family, and friends. Mrs. Nelson will be missed by all who knew and loved her. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at First Baptist Church of Byhalia on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 11am-12pm with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Byhalia Cemetery.
