Alice Faye Reed, 80, of Byhalia, MS went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2023. Ms. Reed was born on November 9, 1943 in Memphis, TN. She was preceded in death by her mother, Grace Marion Appling Allen; father, James Wilbur Allen; brother, James T. Allen; sister, Marion Smith; and sister, Rosemary Allen. She is survived by her son, Michael Reed; grandson, Christopher Michael Reed; sister, Peggy Cummings; brother, Robert W. Allen (Danna); brother, Paul V. Allen; brother, John T. Allen (Anna); and her best friend and godmother of her son, Carolyn Shepherd. Ms. Reed was a believer in Jesus Christ and a faithful member of Meadow Brook Baptist Church. She was a big part of the “shut-ins” ministry there where she would minister to those members who are homebound. She enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball or any game her son or grandson was playing in. She loved her family dearly and they will dearly miss her. She also loved her dogs very much. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Meadow Brook Baptist Church on Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 12-1 pm with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Byhalia Cemetery.
