Anne R. Rikard
June 28, 1924 – March 10, 2013
Olive Branch - Anne R. Rikard, 88, our “Nana,” died after a recent illness. After growing up in Pine Bluff, AR, she married Tom Lewis and moved to Memphis, where she started her 30 year career with the company now known as BellSouth. They had two children before his death in 1957. She then married Culley Rikard and moved to Olive Branch, Mississippi where together they raised four children. After 40 years of marriage and a few years after Culley died in 2000, Anne moved into Wesley Meadows independent living community at Hernando, MS and became a member of Bakers Chapel United Methodist Church. Anne had a bubbly personality and was loved by everyone she knew. She was a truly loving and generous person, giving to everyone around her. Although she had breast cancer nearly 30 years ago, she lived a long, healthy, happy life. She had a beautiful voice and loved singing the gospel. Her survivors include: a sister, Nancy Flinchum of Cheyenne, WY; three of her four children: Tommy Lewis (Ruby), Ginger Lewis (Sharon), Betty Olds (David); daughter-in-law Carolyn Rikard (Jerry Rikard, deceased); six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Brantley Funeral Home Olive Branch 9-10 a.m. Tuesday March 12. Services will be held immediately following at 10 a.m., followed by burial in Boggan Cemetery at Lewisburg, MS. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to The Sunday Fund at Wesley Meadows Retirement Community, 1325 McIngvale Rd., Hernando, MS 38632.
