

Barney Lewis Deweese, 87, of Olive Branch, MS left this world for his next great adventure on August 27, 2026. Barney was born on May 20, 1939, in Kingman, KS to the late Barney Deweese and Lela Holder Deweese. Barney served our country as an Army Ranger during the Korean War where he was a POW. He received a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. He was a small business owner. Barney enjoyed playing golf, spending time with his friends, and in his younger years enjoyed riding motorcycles. He was known for having a great sense of humor and could be a bit of a prankster at times. Barney was also very charming and never lost that charm. He also had a heart for people and would help anyone in need. He was the president of his neighborhood HOA for many years. He was a dog whisperer. Barney was a believer in Jesus Christ, and his faith was very important to him. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 siblings. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Beverly Deweese; 3 sons: Michael Deweese (London), Robert Deweese, and Jonathan Deweese (Sara); grandchildren: Cole, Emmilene, Jann, and Matthew; and 3 sisters: Pat Knox, Becky Watson, and Jeannie Beavers. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
