Billy Clyde Blackwelder, 88, of Byhalia, MS went to be with the Lord Saturday, December 19, 2020. Mr. Blackwelder was preceded in death by his wife of 15 years, Mavis Scoggins; parents, George and Vannie Blackwelder; 4 brothers: Edward, Scotty, James, and Charlie; and 2 sisters, Shelby and Joanne. He is survived by his 6 children: Donna Blackwelder Cramer, Cheryl Blackwelder Countryman, Billy Clyde Blackwelder, Jr., Lorie Blackwelder(Sharon), Anne Blackwelder Ford (Brad), and Melanie Blackwelder; grandchildren: Jessica Ford, Katie Morgan, Nickoli Ford, Andrew Morgan, and Emily Ford; great-grandchildren: Grace Cash, Scarlett Dean, David Riggenbach, and James Dean; 4 sisters: Ruth Goodwin, Joyce Maddox, Janie Montgomery, and Gale Jones; and brother, Max Blackwelder. Mr. Blackwelder served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his military service, he was a farmer as well as an entrepreneur, and he had several businesses over the years. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his brothers and doing yard work. In his earlier years he enjoyed traveling, he loved and was fascinated by airplanes and 18 wheelers. He was a generous and caring man who was loved by his community. The family will have a private graveside service and hope to have a celebration of life at a later date when there aren’t as many health concerns due to COVID-19.
