Ray was the sweetest and kindest man I have ever met. He was so loved by many here in Scott Co., TN. I always looked forward to his hugs.

Ray and Mae would stop at a convenience store on Sunday for coffee. I just happened to go sit at the same time for coffee and to read the newspaper. Before long, we were talking about different things and with his outgoing personality, he laughed a lot. Not long after, he would give me a hug and a kiss. I know how lost he felt when Mae died. She was a beautiful lady. I never saw him much after that.

We were next door neighbors in Tennessee since 1990. Ray and Mae were wonderful friends and neighbors. They came by when our first baby was born, and brought a Kermit the frog toy that they had bought for our son along with some diapers. We kept the toy all these years as a keepsake of our wonderful friends. They also gave our daughter a little dress when she was born a few years later. Ray was always willing to help anyway he could, and was always a joy to be around. We are so saddened to hear of his passing. He will be missed. Prayers for the family.
