

Bobby Ferguson Lowrie, age 88, went to be with his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 13, 2025. He died peacefully at Baptist Memorial Hospital - DeSoto, with his daughters at his bedside. He is now reunited with his wife of 61 years, Myrna Flo Wallace Lowrie, who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his parents, Robert J. “Bob” and Hazel Ferguson Lowrie; and his sister, Imogene Bostic. He is survived by his daughters, Andrea Lowrie of Madison, Ms, and Guyla Lowrie Brubaker of Franklin, TN.
Bobby was born and raised in Independence, Mississippi. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he attended regularly until recent years when health issues prevented regular attendance.
Bobby graduated from Independence High School. After high school, he enlisted in the Army National Guard. He furthered his education at Northwest Mississippi Junior College and Mississippi State University where he received a degree in General Business Administration. He married the love of his life, Myrna Flo Wallace, on June 20, 1964 at Trinity Baptist Church in Memphis, TN.
Bobby and Myrna lived in Memphis for several years before moving “back home” with their daughters to the Wakefield community and later to Bobby’s childhood home in Independence.
Bobby worked in the accounting department for Tennessee Valley Electric Supply in Memphis before obtaining his commercial driver’s license. He was employed by Chromcraft in Senatobia, MS as a long-distance truck driver for 20+ years before he retired. During his retirement, he enjoyed driving Mt. Zion’s Goldenayers to local senior citizen events and on out-of-state trips.
Visitation will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Independence, MS on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at 2:00 pm with a funeral service to begin at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
