Clark David Wylie, born on October 18, 1945, in Memphis, Tennessee, was the son of the late Myra Elizabeth Phillips Wylie and Clark Thaddeus Wylie. Growing up in Olive Branch, Mississippi, he graduated from Olive Branch High School in 1964 and attended Northwest Mississippi Community College. David peacefully passed away on February 29, 2024, at the age of 78. He married the late Sandra Louise Minor Wylie on March 12, 1966, until her passing on May 14, 2010. He served as a Vietnam veteran from 1966 to 1968 and worked as a master mechanic and city shop supervisor until his retirement in February 2009. In his later years, David married Sandy (Brown) Wylie of Coldwater, Mississippi, on December 25, 2018, and they cherished their time together on "Windy Hill." A generous, kind, and loving husband, father, grandfather, and soon-to-be great-grandfather, David cherished spending time with family and friends, considering it his most special and significant pastime.. His interests included camping, boating, fishing, enjoying the beach, volunteering with scouts and school, engaging in woodworking, and relishing a good game of marbles. David is survived by his loving wife, Sandra (Brown) Wylie; a daughter, Allison Louise Wylie Dawson (their children’s father Steven Neal Dawson); his son, Preston Minor Wylie (Elizabeth Eoff Wylie); three grandchildren, Zachary Allen Dawson, Zoe Elizabeth Dawson, and Evan Parker Wylie and one step grandson, Dale Poole. He continues to leave his legacy with the expected arrival of his first great grandchild in April. He also leaves behind his brother, Robert Sanford Wylie (Judy) and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 2:00 pm with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654.
