

Carl Ray Greenwood, 88, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025, in Byhalia, MS. Services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 2:00 pm with a visitation two hours prior at Brantley Funeral Home of Olive Branch (6875 Cockrum St, Olive Branch). Burial will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church, 14910 Cathy Rd, Byhalia, MS.
Mr. Greenwood was born on September 12, 1936, in Miller, Mississippi to Robert Sr. and Ruby P. Greenwood and has lived in Ingrams Mill most of his life. He enjoyed being outside mowing his grass, riding his tractor or 4-wheeler and most of all loved operating his sawmill. He was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church where he loved attending all the socials whether it be singings or dinners.
Mr. Greenwood attended Ingrams Mill elementary school then went to Olive Branch for his remaining years until he joined the military. He joined the Army in 1954 serving 4 years and in 1958 re-enlisted in the Air Force serving another 4 years. After his military service he became a truck driver. He retired from Consolidated Freightways in 1998.
Mr. Greenwood is survived by three children, Micheal Greenwood (Joyce), Carla Garrett (Jerry) and Charlotte Hopper (Walter); Grandchildren: Dana Cross (Chris), Shelly Greenwood, Heather Bailey (Randall), Daryl Daughtry (Amanda), Brandon Daughtry (LeighAnn), Vance Hopper and Landon Hopper; Great Grandchildren: Caleb, Cason, Riley, Nolan ((Chelsie), Chandler (Matthew) , Zachary, Amy, Aggie, Brandon II (Taylor), Brayden, Brantley, Landon, Sara Beth, Katie, Hensley, Charlotte Rose and Baylor; Great-Great grandchildren: Macie, Kyle, Luke and Wade. He is known as Paw-Paw Carl to many.
Mr. Greenwood was preceded in death by his parents Robert Sr. and Ruby P. Greenwood, brothers, Robert Greenwood Jr., William (Bud) Greenwood and George (Bill) Greenwood and sister, Faye Greenwood Escue.
In lieu of traditional gifts, memorials in honor of Carl Ray Greenwood may be made to Meadowbrook Baptist Church or Macedonia Baptist Church cemetery fund.
